Litigation and Business Sections Continue to Grow
DENVER (January 24, 2023) – Moye White LLP has welcomed two new attorneys to the firm’s Business and Litigation Sections. Nicholas “Nick” H. Thompson joins as a partner in the business section, and Jordan E. Helton joins as a litigation associate.
Thompson is a business attorney whose practice focuses on entity formation, reorganizations, business transactions, strategic business and succession planning, tax planning for individuals and businesses, estate planning, and probate and estate administration.
Thompson represents individuals and businesses across many industries, including real estate, professional practices, construction, distribution, software and technology, and retail. He has served as general counsel to hundreds of entities, from LLCs and partnerships to C corporations, S corporations, and nonprofit organizations. Additionally, he represents clients through tax audits and other complex taxation matters.
Before joining Moye White, Thompson was a business attorney at a local Denver law firm. He earned his law degree and a Master of Law in Taxation from the University of Denver and is involved with the Denver Estate Planning Council, Exit Planning Institute – Rocky Mountain Chapter, and TaxForward, an organization for tax professionals to network and grow their expertise.
Helton is a litigation attorney with experience representing both businesses and individuals in cases involving a variety of legal areas, including tort, contract, property, construction, real estate, and data privacy.
Prior to joining the firm, Helton served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Emmet G. Sullivan at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Earlier in her legal career, she worked as a commercial litigation associate at an international law firm in Washington, D.C. Prior to going to law school, Helton taught English as a second language in Hangzhou, China, and worked as a communications manager for the International Rescue Committee. She earned her law degree from the American University Washington College of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude and served as the Executive Editor of the American University Law Review.
