Thomas M. List, Managing Partner and real estate partner, recently spoke with Adrian Cruz at Law360 about how and why the Denver legal market flourished over the last few years. With a mild climate, entrepreneurial population, lower cost of living and booming technology sector, Denver has a lot to offer attorneys who decide to bring their practices to the Mile High City, which has led to a number of mid-sized firms expanding their presence there in recent years.
With the outside law firms coming in and growing so rapidly, local Denver firms have found that they had to step their game up to keep pace with the competition. In 2020, Moye White LLP added 14 new attorneys, including five in real estate, which managing partner Thomas List said was in response to the increased demand by clients for services and the additions made by other firms.
"We felt as though our real estate practice was growing even before the pandemic, and during the pandemic, the demand became even larger," he said. "We were able to add some folks who were looking for a new environment, including some attorneys who relocated from major markets out of state they wanted to escape from."
