For Jerry Conover, experience has truly been the best teacher. A successful trial lawyer for more than 30 years, as well as a lifelong community activist and philanthropist, Jerry has combined his legal skills and social conscience to become an accomplished mediator and arbitrator of civil disputes.
In the last ten years, Jerry has specialized in providing alternative dispute resolution services, serving as an expert witness, and counseling more than 200 clients on how to prevent, manage, and resolve disputes.
In his many years as a trial attorney, Jerry tried a wide range of cases involving employment, natural resources, product liability, contract, and antitrust law. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. His clients included large national corporations, small businesses, and individuals. From this vantage, he discovered the limitations inherent in the trial system. He coined the term ”Improved Dispute ResolutionÆ to describe a model under which clients are counseled to pursue the best method for resolving their disputes through negotiation, mediation, binding arbitration, or litigation.
As President of the Colorado Bar Association, Jerry originated the Colorado Pledge, a collaboration of local business leaders and the legal community designed to reduce litigious practices.
Within the community, Jerry founded the Hope for Generations Fund, serves on the Colorado Historic Society Board, and has been an active board member in organizations as diverse as the Downtown Denver Partnership, Colorado Judicial Institute, and Denver Regional Council of Governments.
